In a nutshell, coaching involves a neutral third party listening and helping you process your thoughts and feelings. A coach listens to you and helps you uncover the sneaky thoughts that are causing negative feelings or holding you back from decision making or creating rifts in important relationships. We are not looking for someone to blame. We are not digging up your past unless things come up in conversation. A coaching session is a safe place to talk and work through your feelings and where they come from (hint – it’s your thoughts!)

What do I gain?

I do not coach “action.” This is really important to understand. You already know what is best for you – you already know deep inside what God is calling you to. But your brain wants to keep you safe – your brain creates thoughts that will keep you stuck. This isn’t a defect – You are NOT broken! But if you don’t recognize the thoughts, you will remain stuck. I don’t tell you what you should do – but I can help you figure out what you really want.

Doing the Work

I do give “homework” which is basically a journaling practice. You get to decide how much time you need or want to spend on this homework – and you bring that information to our sessions. We meet weekly (or as often as we both determine we should meet) and I will help you uncover the thoughts that are making you feel stressed, depressed, anxious, resentful, or stuck. Sessions can happen in person or online.

Are we right for each other?

We both get to decide this! Areas of personal experience and focus for me: Generalized Anxiety/Depression, Addictions in your family, Major Life Transitions like empty nesting and retirement, Difficult Relationships, Motherhood at every stage. But we start with a free consult where we discuss what is on your mind and discuss the program. If I feel I can’t help you, I probably know another coach that can!

Feel free to reach out with any questions.
